As a homeschooler mom now, few months ago I was wanting to do some ministry where I could do alongside Amber & Naomi, something where they could also get involved in a fun kid friendly way, and this is when I was approach to join this wonderful Ministry that a friend had pioneered here in Costa Rica and now this ministry was going to be running out of our ywam location.
Metro Ministries is known as side walk kids church, and basically this is what is! We have been reaching out to very poor communities with semi-high profiles in delinquency, domestic violence, drug abuse among others. We have been working on a couple sites doing "kids church" once a week at each location, we set up on a death end street, or a neighbors garage if the weather is not working in our favor and we are set to go!
Amber and Naomi have been helping with the program doing puppets presentations, little skits to tie in with the lesson, and just worshiping together with the kids of the community, It's a great way for our kids to see first hand the reality in which most kids live in many parts of the world and experience God's love, joy and change as they worship and learn together.
